Here at Pediatric Dentistry Center in New York City we recognize that a certain percentage of the population have unique needs or have special anesthesia requirements. There is a myriad of reasons why local regional measures of anesthesia or simple behavior management techniques are not sufficient.

The reasons for anesthesia may include:

Dental sedation is an excellent way for children special needs to receive dental care in a  way that is non-threatening and far more comfortable. With sedation dentistry, it’s possible for your child to feel entirely relaxed and calm, ensuring treatment is far more pleasant and bearable.

The level of dental sedation can also be adjusted to suit your child’s levels of concerns or fears, and to the type of treatment that they need.

To accommodate this very real segment of our family of patients, aside from Nitrous oxide, Dr. Sara offer a deeper sedation/general anesthesia administered by a board certified medical anesthesiologist in the comfort of our pediatric dentistry office.

As Dr. Sara is a hospital trained pediatric dentist, this provides our sedated patients with the optimal treatment of an additional pair of trained eyes totally focused on our pediatric patient.

Every form of state of the art monitoring is incorporated into our practice as well. You can rest assured that the quality of dentistry is not compromised by the sedation and that the entire staff is committed to providing the highest level of pediatric dentistry today.
